About

Platform Overview

The primary purpose of our platform is to allow users to easily, automatically and cheaply create high quality Erosion and Sediment Control Plans (ESC Plans) required as part of the local Council planning approval process.

It is suitable for anyone requiring an ESC Plan (or Soil and Water Management Plan) for simple single lot residential developments including builders, architects, engineers, planners, individuals etc.

Extensive consultation has been undertaken with local Councils, state planning authorities and potential users throughout the development of the platform. It has been developed to address all of the requirements identified during this process and in accordance with Managing Urban Stormwater: Soils and Construction Vol. 1, 4th edition (Landcom, 2004) and the Best Practice Erosion and Sediment Control guideline’ (IECA, 2008).

Founders Story

I am a CPESC certified Environmental Engineer based in Newcastle with over 16 years in the industry and extensive Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC) experience across the majority of Australian states and territories.

I founded Savvy ESC in 2024 after seeing the poor quality of ESC Plans being prepared for single lot residential developments. I knew that we could do better, especially considering the significant adverse sedimentation impacts the current process was having on our rivers, infrastructure and oceans.

To be fair, at the time, engaging a suitably qualified person to prepare the plans was, to a large degree, financially impractical. A sensible compromise was needed between the quality of the plans and the need to streamline the building approval process whilst minimising costs. It is this sensible compromise that the Savvy ESC Plan Generator seeks to address.
